At Little Bears Day Nursery of Milton Keynes, we understand affording regular childcare can be costly. However there are several scheme in place which can help lighten the load of affording childcare. Read on throughout this page for further information on nursery funding and pre-school entitlement.
Find out if your entitled to nursery funding and pre-school entitlement:
Your child is entitled to free Nursery/Pre-School education - in the form of a grant - the term after their 3rd birthday; we will claim the grant on your behalf from Milton Keynes council. From September 2017 we have the new extended 30 hours free entitlement. We are offering 22 hours stretched funding over 51 weeks per year, if parents are eligible for children who are 3 and 4 years old. We are still offering the 15 hours universal funding for all 3 and 4 year olds, which can be claimed for a total of 38 weeks per year over 3 terms. Funding amounts and term lengths are decided by the Local Authority and are aligned as far as possible with school term dates. We also offer funding for 2 year olds under the ‘Times for Two’ scheme.
Each term you will need to complete a parental declaration form and provide a copy of your child's birth certificate prior to the first terms free entitlement.
The Free Entitlement is now more flexible than ever and it gives children the chance to gain extra sessions into the Pre-School in preparation for their journey onto ‘big school’, however you can offset your 15 hours against additional sessions as long as they are in line with the code of practice limits.
