Nursery Funding Information

At Little Bears Day Nursery of Milton Keynes, we understand affording regular childcare can be costly. However there are several schemes in place which can help lighten the load of affording childcare. Read on throughout this page for further information on nursery funding and pre-school entitlement.

Free Nursery/Pre-School Entitlement

The free entitlement is now more flexible than ever and it gives children the chance to gain extra sessions in the pre-school in preparation for their journey on to ‘big school’, however, you can offset your allocated entitlement against additional sessions as long as they are in line with the code of practice limits.

Nursery/Pre-School Funding - Free Entitlement for all 3 and 4 year olds

Your child is entitled to free nursery/pre-school education, in the form of a grant, the term after their 3rd birthday; we will claim the grant on your behalf from Milton Keynes council.
We are offering 22 hours stretched funding (30 hours full funding) over 51 weeks per year, if parents are eligible for children who are 3 and 4 years old. We are offering 11 hours stretched universal funding (15 hours full funding) for all 3 and 4 year olds. Funding amounts and term lengths are decided by the Local Authority and are aligned as far as possible with school term dates. We also offer funding for 2 year olds under the ‘Times for Two’ scheme.
